Negligent Dental Treatment to One Tooth Causes the Loss of Another Tooth

This happened to a gentleman who was experiencing nerve pain caused by an infection in one of his rear teeth (Molar). He attended the local branch of a large high street dental practice in Somerset.
The decision was made that the only effective treatment was to remove the tooth and replace it with an implant. The treatment took place and, so far as the patient was concerned, everything went well.
However, a few months later, he started having problems with another tooth. X-rays revealed that, in removing the infected tooth, the dentist had carelessly damaged the root of a neighbouring tooth. This ultimately led to him losing that tooth as well! He also faced the cost of needing yet another implant.
The only good thing to come out of all of this was that the dental practice settled the compensation claim without too much of a fight.
